This day is celebrated bi-annually on the second Saturday in May and in October.
This year it will be celebrated on 14 may and 8 October 2022.
The main aim of this day is to draw attention to the threats faced by migratory birds.
It is also shows their ecological importance, and the need for international cooperation to conserve them.
Every year people organize public events such as bird festivals, education programs. exhibitions to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day.
Migration of birds are based on seasonal changes.
Siberian Cranes, Greater Flamingo and Demoiselle Crane are the most beautiful migratory birds coming to India in winter and summer season.
Every year these beautiful birds migrate to India for food, breeding and nesting.
