We all cannot imagine Lord “Hanuman” without thinking “Lord Rama” into our mind. Yes!! our todays topic is “Hanuman Jayanti”. There are two opinion about Hanuman Jayanti, many believed that it is celebrated on Ashwin Vaidya Chaturthi; but some believe to be on Chaitra Purnima every year. People in India, highly believed in powers of Hanuman that’s why, almost every area has at least one temple of Lord Hanuman.

What are the popular names of Hanuman? 

Hanuman is known Anjani Putra, Bajrang Bali, Ram Bhakta, God of Monkey, Pawan Putra, Maruti Nandan and Sankat mochan. Hanuman was born to Mata Anjana (A cursed Apsara), She freed from curse after giving birth to Hanuman with the blessings of Lord Rudra.

Why is Hanuman covered in Sindoor? 

Once Hanuman saw, Maa Sita was applying Sindoor on her forehead. He could not resist himself to ask her reason behind. She replied that it is for long life of her husband “Ram”. Hanuman then applied sindoor on his entire body for Ram. This is the reason that Hanuman Devotees do apply Sindoor on their forehead.

How to Worship Hanuman? 

Ideally, there are some specific ways that tell us the way to worship Hanuman. Before the worship, we should apply sindoor on the Hanuman statue or a picture of the deity with the ring finger. Similarly, the flowers should be offered to him. The incense sticks (Agarbatti) are used for worship should be of Kewda, Chameli and Ambar flavors, and there is a procedure for using the incense sticks for Aarti as well. As these are held between the index finger and thumb of the hand, these must be rotated thrice in the clockwise direction, while completing a full circle. Then we offered Ladoos, Boondi, Paan to Hanuman and starts Hanuman Aarti.
