Hanuman is known Anjani Putra, Bajrang Bali, Ram Bhakta, God of Monkey, Pawan Putra, Maruti Nandan and Sankat mochan. Hanuman was born to Mata Anjana (A cursed Apsara), She freed from curse after giving birth to Hanuman with the blessings of Lord Rudra.
Once Hanuman saw, Maa Sita was applying Sindoor on her forehead. He could not resist himself to ask her reason behind. She replied that it is for long life of her husband "Ram". Hanuman then applied sindoor on his entire body for Ram. This is the reason that Hanuman Devotees do apply Sindoor on their forehead.
