  • On the bank of a river there was a Jamun tree.
  • A monkey lived on it.
  • He always ate the sweet Jamun fruits.
  • In that river, a crocodile also lived.
  • He was the monkey’s friend.
  • The monkey gave the sweet Jamun fruits to the crocodile also.
  • Once the crocodile took the sweet Jamun fruits to his wife.
  • The wife of the crocodile you for food. ate the fruits.
  • Then she thought, “How sweet should be the heart of one who eats such sweet fruits every day?
  • She said to the crocodile, “I wish to get the heart of that monkey. “
  • Then the crocodile went to the bank of the river.
  • He said to monkey that my wife invited
  • Then the monkey sat on the crocodile’s back.
  • In the middle of the river he said to the monkey,”
  • My wife desires your heart.”
  • The clever monkey quickly said, “But I have left my heart on the (Jamun) tree only.
  • Take me to the bank of the river once again to bring it.”
  • The foolish crocodile did accordingly.
  • Then the monkey instantly climbed the branch of the tree and
  • He said, O you fool, is the heart separate from the body?
  • Today our friendship has ended.”
